Class objective: based on knowledge of impaired function compensation mechanisms in osteomuscular diseases, students (trainees) should learn how to use PT means and forms at different rehabilitation stages (inpatient facility - outpatient facility - sanatorium).

Test questions and tasks to test the background knowledge.

1. What static LMS deformities are known to exist? Their prevention.

2. What are the clinical signs of rheumatoid arthritis? Treatment methods.

3. Which methods are used for joint examination (anthropometric methods, scales, radiography, etc.)?

4. What is joint hypermobility? Methods of examination.

5. What is the scoliotic disease? Methods of examination; orthopaedic treatment.

6. Posture. Which types of pathological posture exist? Methods of examination, prevention.

10. What main and auxiliary massage methods are used in combined treatment of patients?

Skills to be mastered by the student (trainee) during the training session.

► Assess motor capabilities of the patient (muscular tone, muscular force, posture, gait, spine, and limbs) using anthropometric, somatoscopic examinations, scales and tests (visual analogue scale of pain, joint hyper-mobility, etc.) and establish objectives, determine indications and contraindications to PT, motion regimens at rehabilitation steps.

► Compile a recovery treatment program for the patient, based on the disease stage, general condition, age, sex of the patient and their tolerance to physical exercise exertion.

► Static LMS deformities, their prevention and treatment.

► Determine indications for physical exercises use in a water environment (therapeutic pool), their value in combined treatment of LMS diseases.
