Exercise 3. Read the text and say if the following statements are true (T) or

1. Many women consider pleasant to discuss with a gynecologist unpleasant changes in the body.

2. The most common gynecological diseases are infectious.

3. Many gynecological diseases, for example, genital herpes or chlamydia can be transmitted by sexual contact.

4. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are common in underdeveloped countries.

5. A lot of different bacteria, viruses and parasites are known to be transmitted through sexual contact.

6. The other hepatitis B is curable.

7. Many STIs can also be transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy and childbirth.

8. Counselling and behavioral interventions can prevent STIs, as well as against unwanted pregnancies.

GYNECOLOGICAL DISORDERS AND DISEASES

Today, many women have problems with sexual health. However, not all women react to symptoms and put off a visit to the doctor. As a rule, the explanation of behavior is embarrassing to discuss with a gynecologist unpleasant changes in the body.

Women usually visit a gynecologist for the following purposes:

- pregnancy related issues;

- problems related to female genitalia;

- menstrual issues;

- problems with breasts;

- problems related to menopause;

- puberty issues;

- hormonal problems detection and care;

- fertility problems;

- weight issues;

- for family planning consultation.

There are many female diseases: infertility, polyps, endometriosis, endo-metritis, adnexitis, coleitis, reproductive organ fibroids, cervical erosion, ade-nomyosis, ovarian cyst, menopause, different types of diseases of the organs of the pelvis.
